One server, every client protocol

Ampache doesn't lock you into one app. The same catalog is served over its native API, a full Subsonic and OpenSubsonic backend, a Jellyfin-compatible backend, DAAP and UPnP/DLNA, all at once. Point Finamp, Symfonium, DSub, Sonixd, iTunes or your TV's DLNA player at the same server and they all just work.

More than music

Video lives in the same catalog as your music. Podcasts sync on a schedule, live radio streams play alongside your library, and Collections let you group anything (songs, albums, videos, playlists) into a single browsable shelf.

Sonic similarity and smart discovery

Go beyond last.fm-style metadata matches. With the AudioMuse plugin Ampache can find tracks that actually sound alike and build a listening path between two songs, exposed through the OpenSubsonic sonicSimilarity extension and the native API. Combine that with Moods, BPM tagging and dynamic smart playlists to keep discovering your own library.

Built for real libraries

Multi-disc albums, box sets, real folder browsing, multi-artist tagging, catalog filters per user, and remote catalogs pulled in from another Ampache server, a Subsonic server, Beets or SoundCloud. Democratic playback and Localplay let a whole room vote on and control what plays next on shared speakers.
