Do not issue any bug reports against versions earlier than 3.5.4 they will be closed.

Furthermore, we cannot accept bugs about metadata or art handling in 3.5.4 due to the large number of bugs that have been fixed since then. 3.5.4 in general is becoming less supportable, and it is suggested to try to reproduce the bug in the latest nightly.

Before submitting a bug please read http://ampache.org/wiki/support:bugs failure to do so may delay resolution of your report.

When a filename contains german chars, like äöü or ß, the file won't be openend during the scan for new files. Instead the full filename (including the folder) ist saved as the title.

If the category of a mp3 contains these german chars (for example the word "Hörspiel") these letters are filtered, so you can only read "Hrspiel" as a category.

Reason for closing:  Works for me
Additional comments about closing:  The filenames of the files must only contain characters from the defined Characterset (UTF-8 is the default). The tags and all resulting meta data must also only be UTF-8. Please verify that your tags are correctly tagged. This is not a bug, this is a configuration/data issue with your files.
