12.31.2008 3.5-Alpha1 Released, Happy 2009
Considerably later then I had hoped but here it is. This is an alpha release and should be treated a such. Any bug reports or feature suggestions should be submitted as bug reports. 3.5.x uses a new password scheme and as such all users will be prompted to reset their password as needed. Amarok 2.0 currently does not work with the 3.5.x branch. The latest versions of Quickplay and Coherence do.

In other news Kevin Purdy showed me his implementation of Quickplay on the Android Phone it was nothing short of amazing. It's still in development but once he's got a working copy released I will post an update here. Now if only I had a G1 phone so I could use it! Also Momo-i has started translating the wiki into Japanese. If you are interested in translating the wiki into another language post it on the forums and I will give you write access and setup the language if needed.

12.26.2008 Ampache 3.4.4 Released
It's not 3.5.x but at least it's something. I've released yet another minor version of the current stable branch, 3.4. This version includes some improvements to the error messages seen during the install. It also includes a few minor bug fixes pertaining to the command line scripts, Force HTTP Play with Democratic Play and fread() errors when the client attempts to seek to the very end of the file and read data.

Next on the list, Alpha1 of 3.5. Keep your eyes pealed!

12.21.2008 Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
Wow, not doing good here. I'm in the middle of moving once again so Ampache has yet again been put on hold. I will try to squeeze an Alpha release of 3.5 out sometime soon. I've decided to scale back the changes I had originally planed for 3.5.x in favor of getting another stable out as fast as possible.

The next release of ampache that I'm planning will hopefully have a major interface change / update that should solve a lot of the issues / confusion that new users have. This update will not come until post 3.5 stable. Happy Holidays all

11.19.2008 Progress at Last
The commits have started to roll back in, now that I've got internet at home again. We are hopefully on track for an Alpha release by the end of the month. There is still a lot of work to be done for 3.5.x however, I am hoping to get it out quicker then I did 3.4.x as I can't wait to move to the new XML API which in addition to a ACL Wizard should make setting up clients that use Ampache's XMLAPI that much easier! Speaking of the API, Kevin Purdy is at it again, this time he's working on an adaptation of Quickplay for Android. I will post something once he has a working product.

One of the main goals of the 3.5.x release is to make some major UI improvements. There have already been some really good discussions in the forums however if you have an idea of how to make the Ampache UI more friendly, think something is confusing, or don't think something is where it belongs please submit a feature request. So that we can make sure to address it.
